Junior Ring Ceremony – Building Memories For a Lifetime

Our 2011 class had their Junior Ring Ceremony today! Parents and extended family came to support our Juniors in this very special event. We are proud to stand with them in this accomplishment and look forward to many great things from them next year. Congratulations to all of you, from all of us, on your special day!

The 2010 Luau – A Great Success!!

On behalf of Horeb Christian School, we would like to thank all the families who shared in yesterday’s celebration of our second annual Luau. The school cafe was decorated beautifully for the ocassion. The catered food was delicious and to top the evening’s program, over 60 students participated in our talent show. Again, we appreciate your support on behalf of our students.

Health and Science Fair is Tonight, Thursday, April 29th

If you are a parent of a student here at HCS, you are probably looking forward to tonight’s exposition of our students’ science projects. Over 200 fascinating projects will be in exhibition for your enjoyment. There will be vendors from local health network services on campus offering valuable information on how to stay healthy. The South Florida Blood Bank will be here with their bloodmobile for those wishing to donate. Our school will receive scholarship monies to assist our students with college funds. A panel of scholars will judge each entry and will determine the winners. There will be prizes awarded at the conclusion of the evening’s events. The National Honor Society will hold its second annual induction ceremony. So come on by, support and enjoy an evening with your family and feel proud of your child(ren) and our school. Varsity Boys Baseball Playing in 15-A Semi-Finals

Our Varsity Boys baseball team will be playing in the District 15-A Semi-Finals next Tuesday, April 27th, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. The game will be held at Alex Fernandez Field at 455 W. 66th St., Hialeah, FL. Let’s support our mustangs in their run for the championship! Entrance fee is $5.00 (mandated by FHSAA).

Lady Mustangs Playing in the 15-A Championship Game

Congratulations, lady mustangs softball team for making it to the championship game! We wish you well in your quest for the trophy. Our school is very proud of you. The game will be held at the Greater Miami Academy (500 NW 122 Ave. Miami FL.) Entrance fee will be $5.00. Come out and support our team!

The 3-on-3 Basketball tournament is Back, March 20th!!

Calling all basketball aficionados! HCS is hosting its annual basketball tournament on Saturday, March 20th. We are inviting anyone from our community who would like to participate in this fun-filled event. We will have teams of three players sign up as a group. The deadline to sign up is Thursday, March 12, 2010. The cost is $15.00 per team. Each player will receive a FREE Pizza Voucher. Each team is guaranteed a minimum of 2 games (double elimination). Congratulations Life FM Christian Radio!

   We are grateful to God for answering many prayers of the Christian community here in south Florida for a voice in Christian radio to fill the void left by the late WMCU. Life FM can be heard on 90.9FM on your radio dial. Hopefully, very soon, we will be able to hear it on the internet as well. We praise God for His faithfulness.

School Open House – Saturday, March 20th

On Saturday, March 20th, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, we will be hosting our next Open House event. You are cordially invited to stop by and receive school information for the upcoming 2010-2011 school year. There will be presentations about our state-of-the-art School Dynamics featured program that allows the parents to stay informed in real time about everything happening in school. You will be able to appreciate the state of our technology up close (i.e. school grades, sports schedules, school lunch, discipline reports, attendance record, account statements and e-mail feature). We will also provide campus tours and teachers will be available to answer questions. Stop by for coffee and pastries and to find out more. See you then!

Guard-a-kid will be in School on March 10th

Guard-A-Kid™ was formed in 2003 in Miami, Florida. After months of research and development, Guard-A-Kid™ unveiled its state-of-the-art Digital Child ID System in 2004. This new system provides a complete identification and safety package for children. For families wishing to avail themselves of this important service, a Guard-a-Kid representative will be in school on March 10, 2010. For more information on the program, click here.

Blood Drive on Thursday, February 25th

For students who qualify to donate blood and want to do so, the bloodmobile will be on campus this Thursday. Parents who wish to donate are also welcome. They can assign their donation to their student to be used for college scholarship money. For more information and to sign up, please contact the school office.
